Hi, I'm Rebecca 💖

The brains and beauty behind Sugar A La Mode. Born and raised in the QC. Baking has been a part of my life ever since I can remember. My mom and I would bake for any reason, but especially for birthdays and Christmas. My mom was the original "Pinterest Mom", before Pinterest was a thing. Birthday cakes were always over the top and Christmas cookies were decorated to the nines! And they were all homemade, almost always.

I baked for friends and family for years and would recruit friends to go to cookie and cake decorating classes at the local craft store. The dream of owning a bakery someday was always there, hidden away in the back of my mind.

In college, my final project in a marketing class was owning and operating a dog bakery, with my dad as my partner. Little did I know 10 years later I would be making that happen, only for humans!

While visiting a local event in January of 2016, I purchased a cookie for my then 8 year old son. It was a cute cookie but dry and flavorless. As I retold the story to friends and family, they encouraged me to sell my cookies and Sugar A La Mode was born.

What started as a side hustle in my kitchen, quickly grew into a full time job. In October of 2022, I opened a dessert bar in downtown Moline. While custom cookies are still my passion and the core of my business, I've expanded into every dessert imaginable, as well as events, birthday parties and workshops.
